Cutie Pies

Although I will never tire of people thinking Micah looks like me - I think people often underestimate how much Micah looks like Brad. Plus you gotta love Brad and Mindy's 70's attire!

What Micah Ate (Really)

We have a new favorite book, thanks to my sweet sister. It is perfect for our little guy who manages to make Pete not look like such a hog. Not that I am calling my sweet boy a pig...let me explain. Breakfast took an hour and 35 minutes today. Why?
He ate:
half a cup of blueberries (the rest he threw)
3(!) eggs
a scone (Tika was thrilled about the crumbs)
a quarter of a bagel with cream cheese (the rest I ate)
half a clementine (the rest I ate)
milk
I shudder to imagine our grocery bill when he is a teenager!

Secret Santa

The holidays started early this year...today we got a wonderful gift in the mail, Revolution Tea. The attached note read simply: "thanks for the clothes." Compulsive closet cleaner-outer/hand-me-down giver that I am, that sweet sentiment does not tell me who you are. Please let me know if you sent this lovely gift so I can thank you properly. In the meantime, I will be sipping some tasty new tea, thankyouverymuch!

Go Buffs!

Look who loved his first college football game. It helped that the Buffs beat the Aggies, the weather was perfect and we were with great friends.

I told Brad that to balance Micah out, we needed to attend a ballet with him - he pointed out that he has already been to a dozen museums. Touche, my dear.

I may have to become a football fan after all...

Speaking of Art

Last week we went to MCA Denver. We lovelovelove this museum - the exhibits turn over frequently so you can go a lot and always see something new. This time we adored Rex Ray, I plan on going back with our mom/baby friends because Micah loved it as much as Brad and I did.

We started talking about our favorite past exhibits and immediately agreed on our favorite. Then, (bless the power of the Internet) we found the artist's website which includes clips of her work. Of course it was amazing to see live, on a huge screen, the voices ringing thru the whole museum - but for an idea, visit Candice Bretiz here. Click on Work, then Video, then Legend. Wow!

Smitten, Indeed

I knew Smitten Kitchen had awesome recipes because my mom and sister have used, and raved about them. My mom made the amazing chocolate pudding pie which we promptly devoured (both times) - most recently at our Fall Harvest party on Sunday...more on that in another post. Last night I made the salted brown butter crispy treats. Crunch. Swoon. Sigh. To keep myself from eating the entire pan, I insisted Brad bring some to school and I brought some to my friends, Athena and Kenda after baby music class today. They were all as smitten as I. Try them. Trust.
